A seafood counter in an old gas station on the “doom corner.” A visual ordering system turned it into a brand big enough to open a second location.
Monthly sales: $25–35k → $80–120k
Melbourne Seafood Station
Before
After

01Where it started
A small old gas station selling seafood out of an ice case, with a one-sided black-and-white flyer for a menu. People loved the food, but it took a long time for them to understand how to order and how much they could order. Most owners assume customers will eventually figure it out. Maybe they will — but it takes an incredible amount of time, and time is money.
02The idea: visual branding as a sales tool
Instead of waiting for customers to sort it out at the register, the menu, windows, walls and screens show them exactly what to order. Food photography, menu design, digital menu screens, see-through window vinyl and wall wraps — one system, everywhere the customer looks.
03The result
Sales were $25–35k a month and the owners hoped to reach $45–60k. They went to $80–120k.
Visually educating people made ordering faster — and the more customers know, the more they can tell someone else. That’s word of mouth with something specific to say.
04Location two, built from a blank slate
An investor wanted a location of their own and brought Frank in to design a repeatable build process. He designed, sourced and built the Indialantic interior from scratch: custom resin-topped counters and tables wrapped in brand vinyl, an underwater focus-wall mural painted with muralist Christopher Maslow, signage and print — all specced so future locations stay consistent.

When I started with Melbourne Seafood Station they were a small old gas station selling seafood with a one sided black and white flyer. People enjoyed the food but the process took awhile to get people to fully understand the best way to order and the extent of what they could order. This is and has been a problem in restaurants for over a century. Most business owners think customers will eventually figure it out – they may, they might but it takes an incredible amount of time and TIME is MONEY.
DISCOVERY SESSION
The building was told to be the doom corner, no one ever made it on that corner. Business was new and selling fish out of a customer facing ice case and there was an option to have the fish prepared as a boil.
SOLUTION
I introduced the concept that VISUAL BRANDING to speed up and develop better customer ordering structure than waiting on customers to sort it out when they arrived at the register.
